Vaginitis Panel

The present problem most Pathology laboratories face today lies within the employment of standard or out-dated testing practices. One of the most commonly employed, the Vaginitis Panel by PCR, tests for three key infections: Trichomonas, Candida, and Bacterial Vaginosis. These infections are among the most commonly seen, making vaginitis panel testing a must. However, most laboratories also obtain and deliver their results solely on a molecular level, which does not yield the most reliable or accurate of results. For these reasons, we now offer a Vaginitis Panel by microscopic examination and special stains.

InterLab Corp Laboratory Vaginitis Panel test allows us to personalize medical results by ensuring precise reports, improving patient care and safety, and thoroughly report findings. The Interlab Corp Laboratory Vaginitis Panel test goes a step beyond the standard Vaginitis Panel by testing for:

  1. Trichomonas
  2. Candida
  3. Bacterial Vaginosis
  4. Actinomyces
  5. Herpes
  6. Lactobacilli
  7. Endometrial cells
  8. Abnormal Squamous cells
  9. Atrophic Vaginitis

InterLab Corp Microscopic Vaginitis Panel requires precise analysis and evaluation of each patient’s sample. Contrary to normal molecular procedure, which relies solely on available copies of the virus in determining the type of organisms present, Our Florida Lab Cytologists microscopically review each specimen slide preparation and report all types of microorganisms present, reporting not only those present but also reporting those that were not present, abnormal epithelial cells present as well as presence of endometrial cells in postmenopausal patients otherwise undetected with the molecular method. A photo is taken of the microorganism(s) present as well as any abnormal cells found during this examination and included in our report to the physician.
Benefits
InterLab Corp Microscopic Vaginitis Panel yields extensive diagnostic results and equips physicians with insight on how to properly treat their patients. The preventative significance of the InterLab Vaginitis Panel test is invaluable, since it detects pathogenic organisms even in early stages allowing for early treatment and prevention of infection-related complications like premature birth, PID, infertility and in cases of abnormal cells the opportunity of early treatment.
